Back-cover copy, sized right

A book blurb sized to your actual cover

Not a generic 150-word template. The word budget comes from your book's real trim size, safe zones, and barcode reservation, so the copy actually fits the panel it's printed on.

Most blurb generators skip this

A blurb that fits the panel it's printed on

Generic blurb tools output a fixed word count, usually around 150 words, regardless of what book you're actually printing. A 5.5″×8.5″ digest paperback and an 8.25″×11″ workbook don't have the same amount of back-cover real estate, and neither leaves room for a barcode the same way a hardcover jacket does.

Typesheep computes the blurb's word budget from your cover template's actual geometry: trim width and height, minus the safe zone on every side, minus the KDP barcode reservation on paperback backs, at the type size and leading the blurb actually prints at. The result is a budget sized to your book, floored at 60 words and hard-capped at 250. Long enough to work, never so long it overflows the panel.

The fact gate

Every name has to come from your book

Cover copy is drafted only from your manuscript's own evidence. Never invented endorsements, review quotes, awards, or comparisons to named authors or books. As a deterministic check, every capitalized name that appears mid-sentence in the generated blurb, tagline, bio, or announcement gets matched against your manuscript, title, and author list. A name the text never uses triggers one rewrite with the offender named. If it still shows up, that field gets withheld with a note instead of shipped with an invented name in it.

The author bio is held to a stricter rule still. It's only ever drafted from an actual about-the-author section in your manuscript. No section means no bio. A biography is never invented from nothing. Typesheep

What's in the set

Four pieces of copy, one pass

The blurb and tagline re-render directly onto your cover template's back panel once generated. The copy and the printed cover stay in sync automatically on every rebuild.

FAQ

What authors ask about book blurbs and cover copy

How long should a back-cover book blurb be?

It depends on your trim size. Typesheep computes the available back-panel space from your cover's real geometry and sets a word budget from that, capped at 250 words.

Can a book blurb generator invent character names or endorsements?

Every name used has to appear somewhere in your manuscript, title, or author list. An invented name triggers one rewrite, then that field gets withheld with a note.

Will it write my author bio for me?

Only if your manuscript has an about-the-author section. The bio is drawn strictly from it. No section means no bio, and never an invented one.

What is a launch announcement paragraph?

A 60-100 word, first-person paragraph for a newsletter or social post, generated from the same evidence as the blurb. Warm in tone, no hype claims.
