What we store, and why
Your manuscript and the files built from it. Stored so previews work and so you can rebuild and re-download within your purchase window. Excerpts and page images are processed by our AI provider (Anthropic) solely to run the automated checks you see in your report, never to train models.
Your email address, only if you buy something (it comes from Stripe's receipt) or sign in by email link. Used to link your purchases to you and to send the sign-in links you request. No marketing email unless you separately opt in.
Two functional cookies. One remembers which books this browser uploaded; one keeps you signed in. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics scripts.
Product events (upload happened, build succeeded, purchase completed) tied to book ids: how we measure whether the service works. Not shared or sold.
Who processes data for us
Stripe (payments: we never see your card number), Anthropic (automated manuscript checks), and DigitalOcean (hosting). Each processes only what its role requires.
How long we keep it
Manuscripts and built files are kept while your book is active so rebuilds and re-downloads keep working, plus rolling backups. Purchase records are kept as long as accounting law requires.
Your rights
You can delete any book yourself, manuscript and every built file, at any time, with the "Delete this book" link on its page. Books that never led to a purchase are deleted automatically after 60 days. Signed-in accounts can download an export of their data at /api/my-data. For full account deletion or anything else, email hello@typesheep.com from the address on your purchase and we'll confirm within 30 days. If you're in the EU/EEA or UK, this includes your GDPR rights of access, rectification, erasure, and portability, and the right to complain to your supervisory authority.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, uploads are stored on access-controlled servers, and book access is limited to the browser or signed-in account that owns them. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will notify you.
